Its love and laughter.. and happiness ever after..

Marriages always bring in jitters.. be it planning for the wedding, or then thinking about how would life be later.. nothing seems to be pleasing the mind.. but that’s my current state of mind..

The entire family seems to be enjoying the whole process of endless shopping, planning and replanning the schedule of events, throwing in the most vaguest of ideas on the décor and having their minds go creative on the food..

Weddings do bring up the entire spirit of togetherness.. and for me – I am just enjoying seeing everyone hustle around and taking in as much as I can of my last few days at “my home”..

Feeling silly..

Have you ever planned a special surprise for a loved ones birthday.. tried hard to ensure that everything was set right for that perfect moment and then one small mistake and every plan just failed.. and yet after all the chaos and failures, had the most memorable and perfect day..

Yes, like I always say, that’s its to do with me in specific.. I had this birthday planned for HD.. He stays in Mumbai and so I thought would give him a grand surprise.. The event plan started off by ensuring that I reached there in time for dinner a night prior to his b’day, we would meet over dinner, which I would eventually prolong till 12:00. I had set up the dinner at a restaurant which offers gazal night and had ensured that the guys would wait till 12:00 for a birthday song and a special dedication from my side..

Ofcourse a birthday without embarrassment wouldn’t suit my style, so I ensured to send across a big bouquet of flowers, along with a gift and a really mushy letter to reach HD’s residence early morning. (Note: HD stays with a few friends in an apartment, who had no clue of our relation.. the idea was to give them a reason to pull HD’s legs..).

So far all was set, HD didn’t get any hints from my side and was least expecting anything.. Unfortunately the extra smart me put up an out off message on outlook and left for Mumbai.. And as they say destiny has its way, HD (who never till date sent me mails on my official id) sent a stupid forward.. And there went the first surprise in drain.. I still remember him texting me “that out of office messages generally give away whereabouts of people.. text on reaching Mumbai..” stupid outlook..

Naah it didn’t end there.. HD was late for dinner and the guys singing gazals totally messed up the timing.. so the first person to wish HD was my mom.. :( and if you think this was bad.. the gift didn’t reach him till noon and the only person to collect it at the apartment was HD, who apparently was late as we were leaving for pune and didn’t open the gift until late evening..

Yaah!! Exactly what I feel now since everything is over - “how silly”.. but that one hug from HD saying thanks for making it so special covered up for all the embarrassment.. It couldn’t have ended better.. :D

%^$%$#%@#$%@$!!

Beep.. beep.. beep.. is what I want to tell everyone who’ve been visiting me since morning and asking the same question over and over again.. I mean I know I generally am late to office (ok ok i admit, always late..) but cant there just be a great day when I feel all energetic to get early to office.. whats the big deal..

So guys I know its strange but yes I did rather appreciate if you acknowledge my early presence rather than get amused over it.. me just a little too excited over a new assignment currently :)

Ganpati Bappa Morya!!

Crowded streets, decorated tents, large queues in front of sweet stores and chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya from every corner of the road is what you witness in the city these days. And only for this period no body seems to be annoyed with people pilling up in front of these tents to watch the massive decorations and say their prayers..

These 10 days of Ganesh Utsav (to celebrate the birth of god ganesha) bring in a different spirit to the entire city. Everything looks colourful specially with the lights in the evening, totally calm with every single person having lots of time to glance at the idols and chat away with glory. The sound of the aarti (prayers) chanted in the calmness of the night make the feeling of connection with god even stronger. Me aint very much a spiritual person but somehow love this festival. We too get an idol of ganesha every year home and its fun to decorate the place, help in preparing the different sweets served as the Prasad and then just watch the entire idol light in the darkness from far.. Ahhh.. amazing feeling..

Here are some pictures of the decorations done at my home.. :)
